I provided comprehensive UX support to the Weatherbound team, designing their mobile app as well as optimizing related processes.

Leveraging data from the Weatherbound Weather Station, the mobile application supports farmers with visualizations and push notifications, enabling timely decisions that maintain crop and soil health, ultimately maximizing yields.

Farm Overview

This is the app's homepage, providing insights into how current weather conditions impact farm plots and cultivars. By tapping on alerts and notifications, users can access detailed information for each crop and receive actionable recommendations.

Task List

Farmers can still add tasks manually, ensuring they don’t rely solely on app-generated notifications and alerts from the Weatherbound Weather Station. Both system-generated and user-created tasks can be postponed and reprioritized.

Weather and Alerts

Changes in weather and precipitation can significantly impact crops. Therefore, the system sends alerts in case of extreme weather events, explaining potential damage to crops and soil while also offering actionable tips to help farmers mitigate negative effects.

Onboarding Wizard

The accuracy of the recommendation system and suggestions depends largely on the information users provide in the app. Streamlining this process was crucial, so we designed an intuitive onboarding wizard to collect all relevant data efficiently. Users can update this information anytime through dedicated pages for farms, cultivars, and animals.

Process Optimization

The existing processes within the Weatherbound team were primarily focused on data processing and hardware improvements and maintenance. What was lacking, however, was a user-centric approach that could enhance data curation and content creation, which are essential for delivering an exceptional user experience.

Together, we created templates in Google Suite to support the decision-making process by managing user stories, features, and a knowledge base across various fields, including meteorology, biology, and physics.
