Digital Asset Management for Corporate Business
DAM systems are specialized software designed to store, organize, retrieve, and share digital assets like images, videos, audio files, and documents. They act as centralized repositories, allowing controlled access for employees, clients, and partners to ensure brand consistency and operational efficiency.
Modern DAM solutions offer advanced features such as metadata management, powerful search capabilities, version control, and workflow automation. These capabilities streamline collaboration, improve asset organization, and ensure digital content is used effectively and in compliance with brand guidelines.
Picturepark Content Management Platform (PCP)
From 2015 to 2017, I worked on UX design for a Content Management Platform developed by Picturepark. This was the company's first fully responsive product, extending accessibility to mobile devices, whereas previous solutions were only available on desktops.
My role involved creating a component style guide, designing fully responsive layouts, and defining core product features in collaboration with management and the development team.
Content Browser
This is the platform's homepage, featuring a set of filters predefined by administrators. Based on their role and assigned permissions, users can browse assets by type, keywords, copyright category, or other classifications set by content managers.
When one or more assets are selected, the available actions appear in the header area.
Asset Overview Page
The asset overview page provides a preview along with all available actions, such as downloading, sharing, editing, and publishing.
The metadata section stores all keywords, ensuring asset discoverability through search and filtering. The permissions section allows asset owners to set conditions and restrictions by assigning permission sets.
Additionally, the relations section provides quick access to similar assets.
Schema Builder
The Schema Builder is the backbone of the platform, available exclusively to administrators. It is used to define roles, permission sets, keyword lists, and other tags.
The tool includes a default set of schemas, providing a solid foundation for building a digital library efficiently and reliably. Administrators can also create custom schemas, tailoring the platform to meet their organization's specific needs.
Responsive Layout
There is a lot of content displayed on each page of the platform, so preserving the usability on smaller screens was a huge challenge initially. Overcoming this required multiple refinements to the style guide, along with meticulous planning. The components were thoughtfully designed to not only meet current requirements but also seamlessly support future features.
Components Styleguide
A seamless and intuitive user experience is achieved through flexible components that adapt to various states. To ensure simplicity for the user, a complex set of components was developed, dynamically adjusting their appearance based on real-time interactions between the user and the platform.
